Tao Tempest (Technically a Game Jam 2 Entry)
Note: UI Elements and sound may vary in the Web Build. Use the Windows build for the most consistency!
Bring Balance to the Board!
Inspired by Match 3 puzzler greats like Magical Drop & Bust a Move, Tao Tempest challenges you to manage 2 puzzle arrays at the same time! Orbs approach you from both sides - only by drawing resources from the left and the right and giving them to the other side can you keep the board clear and win the game!
CONTROLS:
Control | Action |
A / D / Left/ Right | Face Left / Face Right |
W / S / Up / Down | Move Up / Move Down |
LCtrl / RCtrl | Pull Orb |
LShift / RShift / Space | Shoot Orb / Fuse Orbs |
Draw and carry up to 4 Orbs from either side and throw them into each other to combine them in to Yin Yang Orbs! Only by matching 3 or more Yin Yang Orbs can you clear the board. And be careful for red Junk Orbs! Those will only clear by being next to a Yin Yang orb that is clearing.
Orbs only get added to or removed from the board when the timer hits empty! Use this to your advantage to rack up huge clear combos!
If the orbs manage to reach your "Danger Zone", you lose! Clear the amount of orbs designated at the bottom of the screen to win!

It was a bit difficult to tell visually what row I was on at first, which made the controls a little awkward- but but the puzzle concept is solid and I got used to it soon enough to have some fun.
